Behavioral Health Rehabilitation Services for Children and Adolescents
Behavioral Health Rehabilitation Services for Children and Adolescents (BHRSCA) are designed to provide a range of non-traditional behavioral and mental health services. Children and adolescents between the ages of 2 and 21 who have serious emotional and behavioral challenges may benefit from BHRSCA. These services are provided in various settings, including the home, school, and community. These services are child-centered, family focused, culturally competent, and intended to help maintain the child in the least restrictive environment.
Program Objectives
- Establish treatment goals and strength-based treatment plans
- Strengthen and empower the caregiver, family, and community supports
- Respect the caregivers as treatment team leaders
- Provide mental health treatment and behavioral health interventions with family support
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of treatment
Program Eligibility Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or under (may be up to 21 years old if still in school)
- Must have a DSM V mental health diagnosis
- Services must be deemed medically necessary by a psychologist or psychiatrist
- Caregivers must be committed and actively involved in treatment
