Milestone Centers' mission is to provide quality, life-enhancing services that promote wellness and the development of human potential to persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities and/or behavioral health challenges.

Milestone became a subsidiary of Partners For Quality in July 2017.

Improving lives in Allegheny County since 1969, Milestone Centers is a nonprofit organization with 450 full-time staff serving 2,400 adults through 29 programs for people with developmental and behavioral health challenges. Based in Wilkinsburg, the agency's services include behavioral health therapies, residential locations, outpatient therapy and multiple rehabilitation services. Milestone was the first agency to provide residential services to clients who are deaf, the first to engage in electronic clinical records, and the first in Allegheny County to offer a licensed program for seniors who have intellectual/developmental disabilities.

The organization operates two Health Care Quality Units in Butler and Warren which train professionals in 18 counties. Milestone also has office locations and service sites in Wilkinsburg, Penn Hills, Monroeville, Garden City, McKeesport and Lawrenceville. In 2017, Milestone earned accreditation from The Sanctuary Institute as a trauma-informed organization. The accreditation culminates three years of intensive all-staff, client and family training that focuses on an understanding of trauma, chronic stress and adversity, all of which affect individuals and organizations.
